The Farmers

The farmers in the Saint Lucia Floral Cooperative Society Ltd. (SLFCS) have undergone extensive training in cultivation techniques for exporting to regional and international markets. Each one of our flowers has been raised with optimal attention and care thus resulting in the highest quality of blooms for export. A majority of the farmers in the SLFCS have been raised on farms and therefore have the experience and passion needed to successfully cultivate their tropical blooms.

Our farmers have attended or reviewed the following educational workshops in the past two (2) years:

  • POSTHARVEST HANDLING AND QUALITY: MANAGEMENT OF TROPICAL FLOWERS. Dr. Majeed Mohammed, University of the West Indies, St. Augustine Campus, Trinidad. (2010)
  • GINGER LILY AND HELICONIA: CULTIVATION FOR MARKET, Ms. Marie-Louise Reid, Ministry of Agriculture, Lands, Forestry and Fisheries, Saint Lucia. (2011)
